NES Special Education Secrets Study Guide NES Test Review for the National Evaluation Series Tests Secrets Mometrix NES Exam Secrets Test Prep Team 9781627338622 Books Reviews

  • Y I K E S was this a waste of time and money. I’m an elementary teacher who had to pass the NES Elementary for licensure in AZ despite being having passed my ORELAs already. This book has a LOT of information, and it might be helpful in summarizing what you learned in your master’s program; too bad NONE of it is on the test. The exam is all situational, so knowing the intricate details of Freud or Pavlov’s theories or memorizing Bloom’s Taxonomy is ultimately a waste of time. The best prep I’ve found was splurging for the NES practice test to get a feel of the questions and breakdown and going from there.

If you’re preparing for the test deep breaths! It wasn’t that bad. You’ve got this!
  • When I purchased the study guide, I was extremely doubtful based on the size...it is awfully thin. I thought to myself, "How will this help me?". I left it sitting on my desk, I was upset, thinking I wasted money. However, I decided to open it. Upon opening it, I was extremely shocked at how in-depth it was. It even has videos to gain better detail regarding the subject. After I learned that I could get a free DVD to help me with taking the NES test I feel that the study guide was worth the purchase price. I feel relieved knowing that I can actually pass my NES History Exam by using this study guide.
  • So far, I really like this study guide. It is an easy read and short and to the point. I struggle understanding and comprehending text books, but this book is perfect for my comprehensive reading abilities. I can easily understand and comprehend all material that is given. I really like that there is a practice exam in the back with answers and an explanation of the correct answer. I think that will be a great source of assessment when I am finished with the book to see what areas need more studying and understanding.
  • I passed. I took the practice test and then reviewed all the answers. That helped a lot. Some of the questions on the actual test were very similar to the practice test.
There were a few practice questions where the answers were out of order (a d b c) so my mind picked d because I liked the answer but the answers in the back was c. So I got it right based on the words.
  • Don't waste your time or money..This is not a study guide, and not worth $50. I wish I could return it.

If you need to brush up on highschool bio for your NES, get Biology for dummies or Highschool Biology unlocked...Both were way more helpful and perfect for brushing up on mitosis, meiosis and other fun biological processes that I no longer remembered all of the steps to...
  • We have adopted this as one of the textbooks for a prep class for our Elementary Ed students who will be taking the test here in Arizona for teacher certification
  • I bought the book 6 weeks in advance to prepare for the test. I read it, took the practice test and practiced the questions I struggled with. The book did not prepare me for the test. The explanations for the answers are very limited, and the test was not balanced according to the book.
  • Helped me pass the test first try. Great explanations of physics concepts and types of problems, practice test with answers and explanations. Wouldn't have passed on the first try without this guide. The free online videos were useful for topics that were new (took college physics 40 years ago.) If a topic was brand new. Would like to see some of the typical types of problems in each topic. High recommended.
